CCTV DRAINAGE SURVEYS

Over the past four years Laser Surveys have developed, due to client demand, their CCTV Drainage Survey Service. Historically this service has been carried out by specialist drainage companies and it has been necessary for engineers/developers to treat this work as a separate contract. It is now possible for Laser Surveys to not only provide a fixed price quotation for CCTV drainage survey contracts, but also an all-in price for CCTV drainage survey/underground services trace/ground radar and topographical survey. The integration of these services produces a number of benefits to clients which we list below.

Operations

Our “state of the art” camera equipment, both crawler-mounted and manual are operated from specially equipped vehicles fitted out with viewing console, power generation unit, safety equipment and radiodetection systems. Sewer surveys are carried out by passing a crawler-mounted or manual colour video camera down the length of drain to be surveyed and its progress is monitored on the vehicle mounted console. Pipe defects can then be inspected in detail. Each camera is equipped with a transmitter (sonde) to enable its precise position to be plotted and surveyed above ground. Should it be necessary our survey teams are equipped to jet clean the drainage systems prior to survey. On completion of the site work the client is provided with a report to Water Industry Standards, in either hard copy or on disk, colour vhs video and photographic “stills” highlighting the problem areas.

Area of Work

Laser Surveys are based in Worcester and Essex and are able to undertake contracts throughout the UK. Contracts include QE Hospital, Birmingham, Jarrow Town Centre and Blackpole Trading Estate, Worcester.

UNDERGROUND SERVICES TRACING

Using Radiodetection & Ground Penetrating Radar equipment Laser Surveys Ltd are able to locate underground utilities services. This can either be 2D or 3D data superimposed onto a base map. Service avoidance using this data is a must for piling, ground investigation, building contractors & facilities or property managers. Projects can be often out last paint marks on the ground or continual developement of a site may require repeated indepth knowledge of a site when considering extensions or new build. Full 3D modelling of a project allows a contractor to use trenchless technology to install new services whilst avoiding existing services with significant cost savings over conventional trenching. All work carried out to current RICS Standard Specification for the Survey of Utilities.
