Laser Surveys Goes Nuclear

2009 saw us, like the rest of industry, drag ourselves out of the recession. This, to a large extent, was helped by Laser Surveys winning a major contract at the Magnox North nuclear power station, Chapel Cross. Our remit was to locate, record and map the position of 650 manholes and 75km. of drainage runs.

With a combination of Radiodetection, Ground Penetrating Radar and CCTV, and despite carrying out the work in January to March, we brought the contract to conclusion in time and on budget. We would also like to thank the Chapel Cross staff for their considerable help in enabling us to achieve this.

So if you have a complex drainage problem please give us a ring or explore our web site.

We at Laser Surveys provide 2000 quotations a year to the construction industry from our Worcester and Hornchurch offices. The disparity in the upturn is very noticeable. Compared to a year ago we have seen a 30% increase in enquiries from London and the South East, while only a 15% increase in the Midlands. Please don’t let this put you off ringing Steve Hawkins (Director) at Hornchurch Tel. 01708 438408- he likes being busy.

A new Director

It is with great pleasure we announce the appointment of Andy Terry MSc DIC as Technical Director of Laser Surveys Ltd. Andy started working for us during vacations while at Imperial College. After a stint in the Arctic dealing with Polar Bears, meeting his wife and doing geological research he decided in 2002 on a proper job with us. He has been responsible for the design and continued development of www.centremapslive.com our mapping portal. Big things are happening at Centremaps which we will let you know about in the next few weeks.
